‘Yogi’s stick’ on former minister and BSP leader Haji Yakub Qureshi, assets worth more than 100 crores attached

The Meerut police administration has attached the property worth more than 100 crores of BSP leader and former minister Haji Yakub Qureshi. Haji Yakub Qureshi and his two sons are currently absconding in the case registered in Kharkhoda. Despite police notices and court orders, none of the three had appeared before the court so far. Due to this, this action has been taken by the team of Meerut Police Administration on Wednesday afternoon.

Yakub’s son Imran has a mitt factory in Kharkhoda’s Alipur. On March 31, 2022, the team of Meerut Police Administration raided this factory. It was reported that meat packing was being done illegally in the factory. The police administration had also recovered a large quantity of fungus-tainted meat from the spot, after which the factory was sealed. In this case, a case was registered against 17 people including Haji Yakub Qureshi, his sons Imran, Firoz and wife Sanjeeda Begum at Kharkhoda police station. Haji Yakub Qureshi and his two sons are absconding in this case.

At present Sanjeeda Begum, wife of Haji Yakub Qureshi, is out on bail in this case. On Wednesday, the police administration team has started attachment action on Haji Yakub Qureshi’s Kothi and factory. Police has attached properties worth more than 100 crores. During this, a heavy police force was present on the spot.
