The Yogi Adityanath government is going to open more than two dozen Government Sanskrit Inter Colleges across the state. This work will be completed in two phases. Later, if land is available, more Government Sanskrit Inter Colleges will be established in the third phase. At present, there are only two Government Sanskrit Inter Colleges in the state. One in Bhadohi and the other in Chandauli district. The rest are aided and private Sanskrit Inter Colleges.
For the establishment of new Government Sanskrit Inter Colleges, instructions have been given by the Director of Secondary Education to all the District Inspectors of Schools (DIOS) to write a letter and mark the land and send the proposal. Before the year 2000, all the Sanskrit Inter Colleges were affiliated to the Sampurnanand University, Varanasi. After the formation of the Sanskrit Education Board in the year 2000, all of them got affiliated to that board. However, this did not improve the condition of the schools and they went on getting worse day by day.
Now, after paying special attention in this direction by the Chief Minister, work has been started in the direction of improving Sanskrit schools and connecting them with the mainstream. Taking serious note of the plight of the Sanskrit Education Board and schools during the review meeting, the Chief Minister gave instructions to improve the condition of the schools along with the new building of the Board. This decision of the government will give a lot of relief to the students.
The government asked for a proposal for a new school
In a circular sent by the Director of Secondary Education, Dr. Mahendra Dev to the DIOS across the state, it has been said that many state inter colleges have a lot of land. There is a plan to open a separate Government Sanskrit Inter College on that additional land. The government has sought a detailed proposal in this regard. The Directorate of Secondary Education has received more than a dozen proposals so far. In the first phase, more than a dozen Sanskrit Inter Colleges will be opened.
