Wild elephants rampage in Bahraich, villagers beaten and then trampled to death

The mischief of wild elephants is not stopping in Katarnia range of Katarniaghat wildlife division in Bahraich. Wild elephants trampled a middle-aged man going to his village from the tea shop on Tuesday night. He died a painful death. Panic spread in the village due to the accident. As soon as the information was received, the team of Forest and Police Department has reached. The dead body has been sent for postmortem.

50-year-old Radheshyam’s son Chhote Lal, a resident of Biharipurwa of Sujauli police station, went to his neighboring Biharipurwa village after drinking tea from the tea stall located in Kudkudi Kuan village on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, a herd of wild elephants surrounded him and trampled him. Due to which he died on the spot. The accident created panic in the village. Immediately its information was given to the police station and the Katarnia range. After about half an hour Sujauli SHO Rajesh Kumar arrived with heavy police force. After this Ramesh Chauhan, SDO of Forest Department, Ranger Ram Kumar reached with the team of Forest Department. This is the second life in an elephant attack in a week.

The villagers told that the elephants are going on in this area for the last four days. SHO Rajesh Kumar told that the dead body has been taken into custody and sent for postmortem.
