Till now Mahela Jayawardene was sitting on this number, but Virat has left her behind. Virat Kohli went past Mahela Jayawardene as soon as he scored his 63rd in the third ODI against Sri Lanka.

Former Sri Lankan batsman Jayawardene has scored 12650 runs in One Day International cricket. Now Virat Kohli has gone ahead of him. Jayawardene had achieved this feat in 448 matches, but Virat Kohli has set a record of surpassing him in the 268th match itself. Virat Kohli has scored 45 centuries. At the same time, Jayawardene could not even score 20 centuries.
