Kanpur’s Hanumant Vihar area was shaken by two bomb blasts in three seconds. On Friday night, the bullies pelted stones and bombed when they protested against drug addiction. The bombardment created a stir in the area. The video of the incident went viral on social media. After the video went viral, the police swung into action and arrested the four accused. Raids are on in search of others.
Rajat Thakur (25), a resident of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar of Hanumant Vihar, had gone to Jamu village of Bidhanu to attend Bhola Singh Parihar’s birthday party on Friday. A lot of alcohol was drunk there. An argument broke out with Guddu Singh, a resident of Paharpur in Bidhanu, over some issue, although people intervened and got the matter settled. Here intoxicated Rajat Thakur reached Hanumant Vihar area and after gathering his companions started creating ruckus in Damodar Nagar.
Meanwhile, someone hurled a crude bomb at the house of Vivek Yadav, a resident of Damodar Nagar. When Vivek came out of the house and lodged a protest, the goons started pelting stones and bombings. According to information, the area was shaken by two bomb threats in three seconds. Shrapnel also hit the legs of Vivek Yadav and Kuldeep Singh. Meanwhile, someone made a video and made it viral. DCP South Pramod Kumar said that on the Tahrir of Vivek Yadav in the case, a case has been registered against five unknowns including Rajat Yadav, Karan Yadav, Aryan Dwivedi, Shashank Pal. Rajat, Karan, Aryan, and Shashank are taken into custody. Raids are on in search of others.
