A video of a constable posted at the LIU office of the police department in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district demanding bribe for passport verification went viral on Monday. On knowing this, SP Akash Tomar has suspended the constable with immediate effect. He has directed to investigate the matter. Although ‘Hindustan’ does not confirm the viral video.
The video of constable Suraj posted in the LIU office of the district asking for money was becoming increasingly viral on social media. In the viral video, the constable is seen demanding money from the applicant for passport verification. In this, it is being heard saying that the constable will give seven hundred rupees in the name of passport verification. At the behest of the applicant, he is talking about giving six hundred rupees.
On coming to know about the matter on Monday, the Superintendent of Police Akash Tomar has suspended him. He told that corruption in the department will not be tolerated at all. An inquiry has also been ordered against the constable.
