On behalf of Parvatiya Mahaparishad, the Uttarayani Kauthig fair started with a grand procession from Mahanagar Ramlila Maidan in Upvan on Birbal Sahni Marg. Cultural troupes from Kalyanpur, Gomti Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Sitapur Road, Telibagh and other areas participated in the long procession.
