Uttarayani Kauthig on the banks of Gomti has started with a procession taken out on Saturday. Now for 10 days, the shadow of mountain culture will be scattered in the heart of the city. On behalf of Parvatiya Mahaparishad, the Uttarayani Kauthig fair started with a grand procession from Mahanagar Ramlila Maidan in Upvan on Birbal Sahni Marg. Cultural troupes from Kalyanpur, Gomti Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Sitapur Road, Telibagh and other areas participated in the long procession. Mayor Samyukta Bhatia, Chief Convenor of Mountain Maha Parishad TS Manral, Convener KN Chandola, President Ganesh Chand Joshi, General Secretary Mahendra Singh Rawat, Patron Bhawan Singh Rawat, Pro. RC Pant, NK Upadhyay, Nandan Singh Bora, Vice President Mohan Singh Mona, Suman Rawat flagged off. At the forefront was Jyoti from Lord Bagnath Temple in Uttarakhand.
