According to the Meteorological Department, for the next three days, there will be such severe cold at night.
The Western Disturbance that had formed a week ago passed through Kashmir and Uttarakhand and got absorbed in the Himalayas. In such a situation, there is snowfall in the mountains and after that cold and dry north-westerly winds from the Himalayan regions are coming in UP. The fog has also reduced. In such a situation, due to increase in night radiative cooling and air cooling coefficient, there has been a big drop in temperature during the last 24 hours.
In Lucknow, the minimum temperature went below five degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 9.9 degree Celsius on Sunday. It was five degrees Celsius on Monday. It is three degrees Celsius less than normal. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the nights from Monday to Thursday will be cold. The minimum temperature can go up to 4 degree Celsius on Monday and Tuesday night, there will not be a big drop in the day temperature. The day temperature is likely to remain at 20-21 degree Celsius for the next six days.
Chances of change after four days
Lucknow Meteorological Department Director Mohd. Danish told that another western disturbance is getting ready. Its effect will be visible from January 21, then there will be a change in the weather. The minimum temperature may increase by five degrees Celsius. On the other hand, there is a possibility of cloudy weather on 21 and 22 January. There may also be drizzle in some parts.
Outbreak of cold wave in many areas of the state
The Meteorological Department has issued a frost warning in western Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. Along with this, there will be an outbreak of cold wave in some areas of the entire state. Due to this cold wind, the mercury was recorded at 3.4 degrees Celsius in Agra, 3.8 in Bareilly, 3.7 in Jhansi and five degrees Celsius each in Varanasi and Lucknow on Sunday night. Due to cold wind and cold wave, the day temperature is also recording a drop. Kushinagar recorded the lowest temperature of seven degrees Celsius during the day.
