UP Pregnant women undergoing treatment at CHC in K Bareilly will now be examined free of cost at private ultrasound centres. The health department will have an agreement with private ultrasound centers and after affiliation, pregnant women can be examined there free of cost. Pregnant women will not have to pay any fee and the government will bear its expenses. Due to the shortage of radiologist doctors in the entire state, there is a problem in conducting ultrasound tests.
Pregnant women from CHC have to come to District Women’s Hospital for ultrasound examination. At present ultrasound is not being done at all 15 CHCs in the district. The government has now decided to attach private diagnostic centers to CHCs. Chief Medical Officers of all the districts have been instructed in this regard.
These instructions have been given by the government
According to the need, two-three ultrasound centers should be attached to the CHC in all the blocks. Ultrasound of pregnant women coming to CHC will be done at private centers. The center will not charge any fee from the pregnant women for this.
Already running system in Bahedi
This system is already running at CHC Baheri. CHC Baheri is the first referral unit and has the facility of Caesarean delivery. There is an agreement with a private diagnostic center for ultrasound. If the pregnant women coming to CHC are in need, free check-up is done at private centers.
Giving information about this, CMO, Dr. Balveer Singh said that private ultrasound centers will be connected to CHC. Free check-up of pregnant women will be done at the centres. Ultrasound centers should be selected in all the blocks.
