Unemployment or lack of skills? Thousands of BTech-MBA, CA also in line in the race to become a peon

Call it unemployment or lack of ability, thousands of professionals in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are dreaming of becoming peons. Through the Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) Recruitment of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), the posts of Peon, Chowkidar, Jamadar, Mali, Gatekeeper etc. are recruited in various departments of the Central Government.

In this, the minimum qualification for application is 10th pass, but for the last few years so many educated candidates are applying that it is difficult to believe after hearing. Thousands of candidates pursuing studies like M.Tech, B.Tech, MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA, B.Ed in UP & Bihar under SSC Central Region can be seen in the queue of MTS Recruitment. Two years ago, eight B.Tech degree candidates were selected for MTS recruitment in National Sugar Institute, Kanpur. Five had also taken charge.

The craze for government jobs is such that even Chartered Accountants (CA) and Institute of Cost and Works Accountants are applying to become peons. 20 ICWA and 06 CA candidates had applied for the 2019 recruitment.

Applications can start from today

Online application for MTS 2022 recruitment is likely to start from Tuesday. In the years 2021, 2020 and 2019, 1409112, 1531009 and 1292077 candidates had applied in the central region respectively.
