Time till January 31 for approval of PM housing, Deputy Director General sent letter to states to meet target

Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), most of the big states including UP failed to sanction houses to the eligible beneficiaries by the due date as against the target. The Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India has now given time till January 31 to the states for housing approval. Out of the target given by the Center to UP, the remaining 1 lakh 78 thousand 906 houses have to be allotted by this date.

Deputy Director General sent a letter to the states to fulfill the target

A letter to this effect has been sent to the states by the Deputy Director General, Ministry of Rural Development. In which it has been said that against the target for housing approval to the states, 13 lakh 92 thousand 805 houses have not been approved by the states and union territories. Time was given till January 16 for the approval of houses, till January 18, the acceptance of so many houses was left.

With the approval of the house, the beneficiary will get the first installment

The Deputy Director General has written in the letter that this PM Awas Yojana is a time bound scheme. Houses equal to the given target are to be sanctioned. By January 31, in any case, the houses left out of the target should be approved. With the approval of the house, the first installment of construction of the house should be released to the beneficiaries. Do not surrender the house due to non-fulfillment of the target given by the state. By March 31, 2023, 2.37 crore houses are to be completed in the country.

UP has got 8.63 lakh houses this year

It may be noted that the Central Government has given Uttar Pradesh a target of 8.63 lakh PM housing (rural) in the current financial year. The process of approving these houses for the eligible beneficiaries is underway. According to this letter from the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, UP has so far been given a target of construction of 34 lakh 78 thousand 718 houses under this scheme. Out of which 32 lakh 99 thousand 812 houses have been approved. Still 1 lakh 78 thousand 906 houses are yet to be approved.
