Hastinapur
Hastinapur, situated on the right bank of the holy Ganges near Meerut, is an ancient city that was the center of the glorious tales of the Mahabharata. Hastinapura in Sanskrit translates as ‘the city of elephants’. It was the legendary capital of the Kauravas. It is said that the war of Mahabharata was fought here between Pandavas and Kauravas. Many geographical and physical evidences have been found to confirm this belief. After defeating the Kauravas in a battle, the Pandavas ruled the city for more than 36 years till the beginning of Kali Yuga.

Belon is a small village located near Narora town in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. Belon is known by the name of Goddess Belon. Belon Temple is a very old Hindu temple and Hindu pilgrimage site. The temple is dedicated to Sarva Mangala Devi, the goddess of all welfare. Visiting the temple is believed to bring happiness in all aspects of life. There is a tradition of playing Holi with Palash flowers. The temple is usually thronged by devotees during the months of October to March.
Kuchesar
Kuchesar is known for the Kuchesar Fort built by the Jat rulers, also known as Rao Raj Vilas. In the 18th century, the Mughal emperor Najib-ud-Daula granted Ajit Singh the title of Rao Bahadur and the jagir of Kuchesar consisting of 365 villages. In this fort made of mud, seven bastions have been built to protect against the attack of British cannons. A wide moat was dug to make its rampart. Now a part of the fort was taken over by Neemrana Hotels and converted into a heritage hotel in 1998.
Unchagaon
Unchgaon is a mud fort built during the 1850s that used to belong to Rajput landlords. It is now owned by Raja Surendra Pal Singh who inherited it at the age of 10. The palace was renovated by Surendra Pal Singh and now a part of it has been opened as a heritage resort. A part of the fort is still used as a residence by the kings.
Garhmukteshwar
Garhmukteshwar is mentioned in the Bhagavata Purana and the Mahabharata. It is believed that Garhmukteshwar was a part of the ancient city of Hastinapura, the capital of the Kauravas. There is an ancient fort here which is believed to have been built by the Pandavas. It was later renovated by Mir Bhawan, a Maratha general during the Anglo Maratha War. The name Garhmukteshwar is known by the name of the temple of Mukteshwar Mahadev which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Ganga.
This temple is one of the most famous and ancient temples located in Garhmukteshwar. It is said that it was built by King Shivi. A huge Shiva Linga is installed inside this temple, which is said to have been installed by sage Parashurama. The temple is visited by thousands of devotees during Shivratri who come to the temple to have darshan of Lord Shiva.
