Tense peace after stone-firing in Aligarh, no open markets; FIR against rioters

In Aligarh’s highly sensitive area Sarai Sultani, there was a tense calm on Tuesday morning after a ruckus between two communities on Monday night. Markets remained completely closed in the area. Force has been deployed everywhere. The suspects are being closely monitored. In the case, the police have also registered a case naming 15 people on the basis of receiving Tahrir from one side.

Please tell that on Monday night at around 8.30 pm, the locksmith living in Sasni Gate area had gone to take food at the hotel located in Sarai Sultani. There was an altercation with some youths over parking the bike there. In no time the matter escalated to such an extent that they started fighting. It is alleged that the youths of Sarai Sultani thrashed the locksmith. After which he called his brother. When his brother hurriedly reached the spot with his friends, his brother and friends were also beaten up by the youths of Sarai Sultani. After this thrashing, the youths called more youths to their side. Stone pelting started from both the sides. The stone pelting and firing continued intermittently for about five hours till late night.

As soon as the information was received, the force from across the district was called on the spot. IG Deepak Kumar, District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh and SSP Kalanidhi Naithani and other officers reached the spot and took stock. A tense calm was observed on Tuesday morning in the matter. Due to the implementation of the sector scheme in the area, force has been deployed at every nook and corner. Several other officers including SSP, SP City inspected the spot. Gave necessary directions to the subordinates.

two FIRs registered

The police have registered two FIRs in the matter. In one, a case has been registered against 15 people under section 147 148 149 392 307 336 506. Police is continuously raiding for the arrest of the accused. Many suspects have also been raised. The accused are Mehraj, Nazim, Aamir, Gulzar, Waris, Soni, Wasim, Kake, Shamshad, Mehtab, Warid, Sanu, Farooq and Waris. The second FIR was lodged by Ankit Varshney resident Pakki Sarai. In this, a case has been registered against Taj Hotel operator Mehraj, his brother and unknown under sections 307, 392, 427, 323 and 506.

Police said – now there is peace

When asked about this, Aligarh SSP Kalanidhi Naithani said that there is complete peace in the area now. He said that due to the implementation of the Sector Scheme, a large number of forces have been deployed. A case has been registered on behalf of one of the parties. Efforts are being made to arrest the accused.
