Schools Closed: The harsh winter has returned once again in UP. The Meteorological Department has expressed apprehension that the mercury of day and night will now drop rapidly. Orange alert has been issued for eastern UP including Gorakhpur. Meanwhile, the holiday for schools from class 1 to 12 has been extended in Gorakhpur. According to the new order of District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh, the schools will now remain closed till January 17.
According to the Meteorological Department, clouds of dense fog are expected. The sun will be hidden behind the clouds. Day and night temperature will drop rapidly. It has been bitterly cold since the beginning of the new year. The first 12 days were cold, the sun did not rise for eight days under the cover of dense fog. The temperature reached 3.6 degree Celsius. The weather in eastern UP is going to take a U-turn once again. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be severe cold from Sunday till January 18.
Day temperature rose by three degrees in the last 24 hours
The season is also congratulating Makar Sankranti in the new year. The attitude of the rising sun has turned red. In the last 24 hours, the day temperature has gone up by about 3 degree Celsius. Due to this, the day’s mercury was higher than normal on Saturday. For the first time in the new year, the day temperature has been above normal. The day’s maximum temperature on Saturday was 22.7 degree Celsius. This is about two degrees more than normal. Night temperature has increased in the last 24 hours. The night’s minimum temperature on Saturday was 7.9 degree Celsius.
Gorakhdham Express came nine hours late
Due to dense fog, the process of late arrival of trains continues. On Saturday, the Gorakhdham Express arrived late in the evening with a delay of nine hours. Similarly, Vaishali Express came late by three and a half hours and Bihar Sampark Kranti Express by two hours. Passengers are facing difficulties due to non-availability of pantry car in Gorakhdham Express.
