The screw of reservation has got stuck in the recruitment of teachers in Lucknow KGMU. In fact, in the recruitment of teachers, more posts have been reserved than the fixed quota of ESW. After the complaint, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes has taken cognizance of the matter. KGMU registrar has been summoned in this regard.
In July 2022, advertisement was taken out for the recruitment of about 200 teachers. This also includes backlog posts. While 111 new teacher recruitment posts are included. The Scheduled Caste Tribe Medical Teachers Association alleged that the rules of reservation were ignored in the advertisement. Association General Secretary Dr. Hariram alleges that OBCs have 27 per cent reservation, scheduled castes 21 per cent and tribes 2 per cent. There is a rule of 10% reservation of ESW. ESW reservation will be applicable in case of 10 seats.
reserved more posts
There are allegations that in the posts of 111 teachers, about 23 posts have been made in ESW quota. Which is against the rules. Following the complaint, the commission issued a letter to the KGMU registrar on January 13. In this, the registrar has been summoned for hearing on January 18. Officials say that until the distribution of reservation is done according to the rules, the recruitment process cannot proceed. In such a situation, the recruitment of teachers is stuck.
NAAC grading will make a difference
Recruitment of teachers can also have an impact on NAAC grading. KGMU has 4500 beds. At present 500 teachers are posted. The posts of more than 200 teachers are lying vacant. Recruitment of teachers is important in good grading of NAAC. Lack of teachers can affect NAAC grading. Due to this, the problems of KGMU administration have increased. The officials are busy in solving the problem as soon as possible.
