Rasuka has been imposed on the accused of burning copies of Ramcharitmanas near the Housing Development Office in PGI Vrindavan Colony, Lucknow. All of them claim to be associated with the All India OBC Mahasabha.
ADCP East Syed Ali Abbas said that on January 30, BJP worker Satnam Singh had given Tahrir, in which Rae Bareilly Road Sainik Nagar resident Satendra Kushwaha, Alambagh resident Yashpal Singh, Devendra Pratap Yadav of South City and Fish Park resident, belonging to All India OBC Mahasabha, had given Tahrir. Mo. Salim was arrested. The ADCP informed that the National Security Act (Rasuka) has been invoked against the accused. Further arrests can be made on the basis of facts. At the same time, there is a lot of resentment among the people regarding the burning of copies of Ramcharitmanas. Various organizations have demanded strict action against those who insult the religious text. Swami Prasad Maurya has also been made an accused.
Swami Prasad Maurya gave a controversial statement
SP leader and former minister Swami Prasad Maurya had made objectionable remarks about Ramcharitmanas. After which a case was registered against the SP leader. The members of the All India OBC Mahasabha were enraged by this action of the police. On January 30, the accused had burnt copies of Ramcharitmanas to show their support for Swami Prasad Maurya. Whose video was made viral in social media. The police swung into action only after this video surfaced.
With the help of the footage, the accused involved in burning the copies were nabbed and sent to jail. ADCP East said that during the investigation the printer used for printing copies has also been recovered, along with a computer has also been taken into custody by the police. Investigation revealed that after the arrest of the accused, an attempt was made to destroy the saved data in the computer. Data recovery will be attempted with the help of forensic experts.
