Railways will no longer be able to deduct in the name of membership fee from the salary of the employees. Employees will now be given the option to take membership of railway organizations if they want, otherwise not. In this regard, Assistant Personnel Officer Lavkush Singh Rawat from the headquarters has issued instructions to the DRMs and heads of departments of Jhansi, Prayagraj and Agra divisions.
Till now the membership fee of the recognized union was deducted directly from the salary. The employees were protesting against this for a long time. On the demand of the employees, a meeting was held on January 13, 2023 with RP Singh, General Secretary of recognized Railway Organization NCRES (North Central Railway Employees Union) and RD Yadav, General Secretary of NCRMU (North Central Railway Men’s Union) in the room of Principal Chief Personnel Officer. It was decided in the meeting that the employees will fill the option form to stop the deduction of union membership fee.
The railway administration will send this form along with the list to the union. If the union does not respond to the form within two months, the deduction of the employee’s membership fee will be stopped. For this, every year from December 1 to January 31, employees will have to send a form to stop deduction of membership fee.
The annual fee for both the organizations is Rs 400.
Membership fee of NCRES is deducted in March-April and membership fee of NCRMU is deducted in April-May every year. Option to stop deduction of membership fee till January 31 has been fixed as the last date for submission of form, so now the membership fee of NCRES will be deducted in the month of April-May and that of NCRMU in the month of June-July. The membership fee of both the organizations is Rs 400 each annually.
NCRES Divisional Secretary Bhanu Pratap Singh said that this is a good order from the headquarters. Many times, even after leaving the organization of employees, deductions are made from their salaries in the name of membership fees. In such a situation, the Railways, along with the officials of both the recognized railway organizations, has issued an order in the interest of the employees.
