In Kadipur of Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, the tractor driver lost his life in the process of police recovery. The inspector and constables stopped the tractor-trolley laden with wood at the bypass turn and asked for bribe. On not giving, the police personnel made the driver Ankush and his fellow laborers sit on the bonnet. The soldier himself started driving the tractor. Meanwhile, the tractor overturned and Ankush got buried under it, due to which he died. In this case, on the instructions of the ASP, a case of culpable homicide has been registered against five people, including the inspector and the sub-inspector.
In the midnight of Monday, a tractor trolley was being loaded with wood. The tractor was being driven by Ankush Singh (20) son of Devendra Singh, a resident of Gopalpur village located in Mehnagar police station of Azamgarh district. Ankush lived here at the house of his brother-in-law Umashankar Singh in Raibigo. It is alleged that police personnel stopped Ankush near a tractor agency in the night. The sub-inspector and two constables took Ankush to the shore and demanded money. Ankush refuses to pay the bribe. On this constable Danish made Ankush and other laborers sit on the bonnet and himself drove the tractor and went towards the police station. Meanwhile, the tractor overturned and Ankush Singh got buried under it. He was brought to CHC Kadipur in a hurry. There the doctors declared Ankush brought dead.
Jam at midnight in protest against the incident
Hearing the news of Ankush’s death, there was chaos in his brother-in-law’s house in Raibigo. Within no time a crowd gathered in the CHC. The relatives started protesting after reaching Patel Chowk by placing the dead body on the stretcher. CO Shivam Mishra, who reached the spot, called the force of half a dozen police stations including the police station and started convincing the family members, but people did not agree. Demonstration by keeping the dead body at Patel Chowk of Kadipur Kotwali area for four hours late night. Finally, Additional ASP Srivastava reached the spot at around one o’clock in the night and sent the dead body for postmortem after assuring that a case would be registered against all the accused.
Case registered against five police personnel
Seeing the seriousness of the incident and the anger of the people, the ASP ordered to register a case against Kadipur Kotwal Devendra Singh, Inspector Akhilesh Singh and constables Danish, Jitendra and an unknown person. A case has been registered against all the police personnel on the Tahrir of Umashankar Singh, a relative of the deceased. A case of culpable homicide was registered against Kotwal Devendra Singh, Inspector Akhilesh Singh, constable Danish, Jitendra and an unknown person.
