Property Dealer Murder Case: The five accused policemen of Kanpur’s property dealer Manish Gupta murder case, after being released on bail from the CBI court, made their arrival at the Gorakhpur police line on Friday evening. All were suspended by the then SSP on being accused of murder. Later, after the case was registered, he was arrested and sent to jail.
All the policemen reached Gorakhpur together on Friday. After meeting the police officers, Inspector Akshay Mishra, Rahul Dubey, Vijay Yadav, Chief Constable Kamlesh Yadav, Constable Prashant Kumar reached the police line at 4 pm. Informing about being suspended, everyone made their arrival in the police line. On September 28, 2021, the then SSP Dr. Vipin Tada accused SHO Jagat Narayan Singh, Inspector Akshay Mishra, Rahul Dubey, Vijay Yadav, Head Constable Kamlesh and Constable Prashant was suspended.
When the matter caught fire, a case of murder was registered against all the accused on the complaint of Manish’s wife Meenakshi Gupta. After which everyone escaped without making them come in the police line. The Kanpur SIT constituted for investigation arrested all of them and sent them to jail. On January 10, the five policemen were released from Tihar Jail after the framing of charges in the murder case. Whereas Inspector JN Singh is still closed. JN Singh will be tried for murder.

On the late night of 27 September, the policemen were accused of thrashing Manish to death in a hotel in Gorakhpur.
After the postmortem on September 28, a case of murder was registered against the policemen, 6 were suspended.
On the morning of September 29, the relatives reached Kanpur with the dead body. Denial of last rites on the insistence of meeting CM.
On September 30, after the assurance of the administration, the dead body was cremated. The same day the CM met Manish’s wife.
Kanpur SI started the investigation of this matter from October 2.
On the evening of October 10, the Ramgarhtal police arrested Inspector JN Singh and Inspector Akshay Mishra.
On October 12, the police arrested Inspector Rahul Dubey and Constable Prashant Kumar.
On October 13, the police arrested the chief constable Kamlesh Yadav.
On October 16, the police arrested the last accused, Inspector Vijay Yadav.
On November 2, the CBI started its investigation by registering a case in this matter.
On January 7, the CBI filed a charge sheet in this case against all the policemen on charges of murder.
On January 8, 2023, the CBI court framed charges against all the police personnel.
On January 9, 2023, the CBI court granted bail to five police personnel.
