A sub-inspector and three constables of Kadipur Kotwali of Sultanpur have been accused of killing the youth. For four hours late night at Patel Chowk in Kadipur Kotwali area, the family members protested by keeping the dead body. In the end, the family got up from the dharna on the issue of taking action by filing a case against the guilty police personnel by the Additional Superintendent of Police. Meanwhile, the force of many police stations was called.
Ankush Singh (20), resident of Gopalpur under Mehnagar police station of Azamgarh, son Devendra Singh lived at the house of brother-in-law Harishankar Singh at Atra Raibigo of Kadipur Kotwali. On Monday night, he was carrying wood on a tractor trolley. Accused-Daroga Akhilesh Singh, constables Jitendra, Danish and Surendra chased him near a tractor agency and caught him. These people started pressurizing the young man to take the tractor to Kotwali. When the young man refused to go, took him to the side and demanded ten thousand.
When the young man refused to give the money, the police personnel said that the Kotwal is under pressure that the tractor will have to be taken to the Kotwali. After this constable Danish started driving the tractor and made the young man Ankush and the levers sit on the bonnet. It is alleged that the constable pushed the curb on the pit road ahead and he fell down from the bonnet. He was crushed to death. On information, the relatives reached the spot and took Ankush to the CHC where the doctor declared him brought dead. After this, the relatives started creating ruckus.
The family members reached Patel Chowk with the dead body, started protesting. CO Kadipur Shivam Mishra reached the spot with the team and explained to the family members but the family members were adamant on filing a case of murder against the accused police personnel. Then the force of Karaundikala, Chanda, Lambhua, Motigarpur, Dostpur, Akhandnagar, Jaisinghpur police station was called.
Additional Superintendent of Police Vipul Srivastava reached the spot after one o’clock on Monday night. He heard the family members and finally assured them that action would be taken against the guilty police personnel. He asked for Tahrir to settle the case. The family members gave a complaint against the guilty police personnel. The ASP said that a case of culpable homicide has been registered at Kadipur Kotwali. Kotwal Devendra Singh, Inspector Akhilesh Singh, Constable Danish, Jitendra have been named in this.
