Bangladesh Cricket Board chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricbuzz, “It (review after every six months) will ensure that no one takes their place lightly, but it does not mean that the central contract list will be changed every year.” will be changed after six months, rather this initiative is likely to put everyone on guard as they will know that fingers will be pointed at them if they fail to perform and perform poorly in the six month period. ”
BCB’s list of centrally contracted cricketers for 2023 will be made public after the board meeting, where BCB Cricket Operations will take necessary approvals to implement the new law for centrally contracted cricketers. Cricbuzz has learned that Mohammad Nayeem, Shadman Islam and Mahmudul Hasan Joy have failed to make the cut, while Mahedi Hasan’s fate hangs in the balance.
