The first day’s play of the semi-final matches of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season has come to an end. Bengal and Karnataka teams seem to be a little ahead as both the teams have scored at a good pace on the first day.

The semi-final matches of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season are being played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore and the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Indore will see the semi-final match between Madhya Pradesh and Bengal, while Karnataka and Saurashtra will play in Bengaluru. Both the semi-final matches have started at the same time and the first day’s play of both the matches has ended.

By the end of the first day’s play, the teams of Bengal and Karnataka seem to be slightly ahead in the match, especially the Bengal team, which scored more than 300 runs on the first day. Karnataka also batted well but managed only 229 runs, including a century from Mayank Agarwal. Captain Mayank Agarwal is batting on 110 off 246 balls while Srinivas Sarath is unbeaten on 58.

Talking about Bengal, in the first semi-final match, the team scored 307 runs in 87 overs losing 4 wickets. Anustup Majumdar was dismissed for 120 while Sudeep Kumar Gharami scored 112. On the other hand, talking about Karnataka, the team faltered in the beginning, as 2 wickets fell for 21 runs and 3 wickets for 68 runs, but Mayank Agarwal stood firm at one end.
