His blistering batting helped India post a mammoth score of 390/5 and crushed Sri Lanka by 317 runs. India whitewashed Sri Lanka 3-0 in the three-match ODI series.

Kohli remembers Dhoni

Kohli remembered former Indian captain MS Dhoni after playing a shot during his century in Thiruvananthapuram. In fact, Kohli hit a six off the third ball of the 44th over bowled by Kasun Rajitha, playing a helicopter shot like Dhoni. After hitting the six, Kohli went to Shreyas Iyer at the non-striker’s end and was seen saying ‘Mahi shot’. This six was of 97 meters. The video of Kohli’s helicopter shot is becoming quite viral on social media. Kohli made an important partnership of 108 runs for the third wicket with Iyer.

Kohli becomes player of the series

Kohli scored the highest 283 runs in Sri Lanka ODI series. He was adjudged Player of the Series for scoring runs. Kohli was also awarded the Player of the Match award in the first and third ODIs. He broke a flurry of records as soon as he scored a century in the third match. Kohli has become the batsman to score the most ODI centuries (10) against any one team. He also holds the record for most hundreds (21) at home. Before him, this record was recorded in the name of great batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
