Kapil Dev warns BCCI selectors about Hardik Pandya, ‘If we lose a series, we will remove him…’

Kapil Dev on Hardik Pandya: Former Indian veteran all-rounder Kapil Dev has spoken a lot in support of hardy player Hardik Pandya. He has also warned the BCCI selectors.

Team India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been in discussion for the last several months about his batting-bowling as well as captaincy. He has led the Indian team in three T20I series in the absence of Rohit Sharma and has won all of them. Under Hardik’s captaincy, India recently whitewashed Sri Lanka 3-0 in the home T20 series. Let us tell you that under the leadership of Hardik, Gujarat Titans managed to become IPL champions for the first time, after which his leadership skills are being highly appreciated.

India’s journey in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia came to an end in the semi-finals. The shortest format world is now to be hosted by West Indies and America in 2024. Rohit has not been a part of the Indian T20 squad since the tournament held in Australia. It is being said that Hardik is being groomed for the upcoming T20 World Cup so that he can show his mettle with the young brigade. However, India’s World Cup-winning captain and former veteran all-rounder Kapil Dev has warned the BCCI selectors about Hardik.

Kapil believes that Hardik is a long-term option for the BCCI, so the board needs to back the all-rounder despite his mistakes. He told Gulf News, “I think one should not look at the world. You just look at your team and your way of thinking. Hardik should not be told that if you lose a series, we will drop you. If you make someone the captain, you have to give him time so that he can start performing. He will make mistakes but the important thing is that you don’t see the flaws. Instead of making mistakes, focus on whether he is ready to take the team forward or not. Look to the future. You should not watch according to each series.
