India made it to the Super-6 in the Under-19 World Cup, hunting Scotland after South Africa and UAE
Spin trio of Mannat Kashyap, Archana Devi Singh and Sonam Yadav bowled brilliantly as India thrashed Scotland by 83 runs to enter the Super Sixes of the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup on Wednesday.
The Shafali Verma-led Indian team registered their third consecutive win in the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, thrashing lowly Scotland by 85 runs in their Group D league match on Wednesday. Batting first, India scored 151 for four at the Willomoor Park B field, in reply to which Scotland were all out for 66 in 13.1 overs. This is India’s third win in Group D. Earlier he has won against South Africa and UAE.
The credit goes to Patiala’s Mannat Kashyap (4/12) in Punjab and Kanpur spinner Archana Devi (3/14) in Uttar Pradesh to bundle out Scotland cheaply. Apart from this, Sonam Yadav of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh took two wickets for just one run and tied the remaining bundle of the rival team.
Scotland’s opening pair Alyssa Lister (14) and Dracey Carter (24) were the only ones to get their personal scores to double digits. At one time, after scoring 41 runs for two wickets against India, the Scotland team suddenly collapsed like a pack of cards. His eight players could add only 25 runs to the team’s score.

Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, the Indian team did not get off to a good start when their star player Shefali Verma became the victim of Naima Shaikh after scoring just one run. However, at the other end, Gongadi Trisha (57) continued to thrash the Scottish bowlers and put on a valuable 70 runs for the third wicket with Richa Ghosh (33). Later, Shweta Sherawat (31 not out) made an important contribution to the team, due to which India was successful in giving a challenging target.
