IND vs NZ: Michael Bracewell scored a century, became the third Kiwi batsman to score the fastest century
Michael Bracewell has played a brilliant century in the first ODI against India. He completed 100 runs in 57 balls. This is Bracewell’s second century in ODI career.
The first match of the three-match ODI series is being played between India and New Zealand. Opener Shubman Gill scored a maiden double century as India scored 349 for eight in the opening ODI against New Zealand on Wednesday. In response to this, the New Zealand team kept getting setbacks at frequent intervals, but in the meantime, Michael Bracewell has increased India’s concern by scoring a century. Michael Bracewell brought up his century in just 57 balls. This is the second century of his ODI career.
Against India, he hit 10 fours and 6 sixes in 57 balls. With this, he has become the third batsman to score the fastest century for New Zealand.
Third Kiwi batsman to score fastest century
The record for the fastest century for New Zealand in ODIs is in the name of Corey Anderson, who scored a century in 36 balls against the West Indies in 2014. The second name is of Jesse Ryder, who scored a century against the West Indies in 2104 in 46 balls. The third number in this list is Michael Bracewell, who scored a century in 57 balls against India in 2023. At number four is Craig McMillan, who scored a century in 67 balls against Australia.
