In the last match of the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, Ishaan Kishan got the chance to open the innings and he made good use of the opportunity by hitting a double century. The skipper confirmed that Ishan Kishan, who scored a record double century in his last ODI innings against Bangladesh, will play in the middle order. He said, ‘Kishan will bat in the middle order and I am happy that he will get a chance here after that brilliant innings in Bangladesh. Against Sri Lanka, Shubman Gill opened the innings with Rohit and scored a century and a half-century in a strong performance.

Ishaan Kishan will be included in the playing XI in place of KL Rahul. Rahul has been given a break from this ODI series. Now it has to be seen whether Ishaan Kishan gets a chance to play before or after Suryakumar Yadav. Shreyas Iyer is not a part of this series due to injury, in such a situation Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan will have the responsibility of handling the front in the middle order.
