After sweeping Sri Lanka in the ODI series, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is now going to face New Zealand. The three-match ODI between India and New Zealand will start from Wednesday. The first match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan was part of the Indian squad for the Sri Lanka ODI series but did not get a chance to play a single match. Ishaan played the last ODI against Bangladesh last month, in which he scored a stormy double century.

Change in Ishaan’s batting position

Please tell that Ishaan usually takes the field as an opener but his batting position has been changed for the New Zealand ODI series. Captain Rohit himself confirmed this on Tuesday. Ishaan will now play as a middle order batsman. Before the start of the series, Rohit said, “Ishaan will bat in the middle order. I am happy that after playing a good innings against Bangladesh, he can score runs at this position.” Significantly, Ishaan has played 10 ODIs so far and has batted in the middle order many times in this format.

New Zealand is a very good team and they are coming on the back of a great series win against Pakistan. Obviously they are playing good cricket.
