The four-Test series between India and Australia is starting from 9 February. Kangaroo players are making special preparations to deal with veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. However, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan believes that Ashwin will once again be seen troubling the Australian batsmen. He even gave that left-handed batsman David Warner will not be much of a challenge in front of Ashwin. Please tell that Ashwin has dismissed Warner 10 times in Tests, in which his hunting average is 18.2.

In fact, Pathan was asked during a discussion on Star Sports show ‘Game Plan’ whether the Ashwin vs Warner rivalry would be the focus of the series? In response, the former Indian cricketer said, “There is no doubt about it, because if we look at history, almost 50 percent of Ravichandran Ashwin’s wickets have come against left-handed batsmen.” No bowler in history has taken more than 200 wickets of left-handed batsmen. These are amazing figures. In such a situation, if Warner comes in front of Ashwin, then I do not think it will be a big challenge.

Warner has scored a double century in Tests a few weeks back but Pathan still believes that the Australian opener will not be very effective on Indian pitches. He said, “I know that Warner has scored a double century. He must be very confident at the moment, as he has been facing criticism for his batting. He was struggling for runs. However, the challenge in India is different. Here the challenge of the pitches and the challenge of Ashwin is going to be very strong. I think Ashwin will definitely give trouble to Warner in this series.”
