As a player, he also understands that and he also has to wait for his chance and he is also preparing for it, he works hard and whenever the opportunity comes, he does well and stands his ground ”

While Suryakumar is the world’s number one T20 batsman and is enjoying his fine form in the shorter format of the game, Ishaan scored his ODI double century in Bangladesh ahead of the Sri Lanka series. Asked if Ishaan could be asked to bat in the middle order, Rathour said, “At the moment, he is being picked as an opener but as a batting unit, we are very flexible and if someone like Ishaan is there, we will be able to bat.” If there is a need to try in the middle order, then we will have to do so. However, at this time he is being seen only as an opener.
