Head Constable Taufiq Ahmed, accused of molesting a BA student in Triveni Express, was sent to jail. The victim student belongs to Scheduled Caste, hence the section of SC-ST Act has been extended in the case. Taufiq started crying while going to jail. Taufiq Ahmed posted in Police Line Bareilly was suspended.
On Friday, there was an incident with a student of Pilibhit aboard Triveni Express (15053). The girl student studying in Prayagraj was traveling in coach number seven. According to the student, all the passengers of the coach had got down at the junction itself, she was alone in the coach, when head constable Taufiq Ahmed boarded from the junction. When the train left for the city station, Taufiq started molesting the student. Somehow she ran away and reached another coach, only then the accused threw her bag etc. from the moving train. The accused got down as soon as the train slowed down at the outer. The student informed the GRP at the city station about the incident. After this information was given to Bareilly Junction. On the other hand, Taufiq was afraid that he would be caught at the city station. So he again reached platform number six of the junction. There teams were already engaged in the search. He was arrested.
The accused Head Constable Taufiq Ahmed, a resident of Mohalla Bishanpur Lodhi of Civil Lines Kotwali in Moradabad, was posted in Bareilly Police Line. A case was filed against Taufiq Ahmed under the section of molestation, POCSO, on the student’s Tahrir. Taufiq Ahmed was sent to jail after getting medical done on Saturday.

CO GRP Devi Dayal reached Bareilly Junction. Took information about the incident. Talked to the student. It came to know that the student belongs to Scheduled Caste, hence the section of SC-ST Act has been extended in the case. CO GRP Devi Dayal has also started the investigation of the matter. While going to the jail, the accused started crying.
DIG ordered departmental inquiry
On the report of GRP, DIG Bareilly Akhilesh Chaurasia has suspended the accused head constable Taufiq Ahmed. Along with this, orders for departmental inquiry have been given.
