Girl students who arrived at Hindu College in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh wearing burqas were stopped at the gate itself. The college has fully implemented the dress code from January 1. In order to comply with this, the Proctorial Board did not give entry to girl students wearing burqas. On this the girl students started protesting at the gate itself. On getting the same information, the office bearers of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha also reached and started raising slogans. However, some Muslim girls went inside without the burqa, appreciating the enforcement of the dress code.
For strict enforcement of the dress code, the Proctorial Board is regularly visiting the college gate. In the same sequence, the investigation was being done on Wednesday as well. Meanwhile, some girl students who came in burqa were stopped at the gate itself. After which she started protesting. Seeing the uproar, Zoology’s Prof. Shalini Rai tried to convince the girl students but they did not agree. After this Chief Proctor Prof. AP Singh also reached the gate and made it clear that without burqa, enter the college, otherwise you will not get admission.
Pro. AP Singh said that the college administration has implemented dress code for the safety of the students. This information was given long back. The students were constantly being told to come dressed only. The decision of the college administration is applicable to all. For Muslim girl students, a changing room has been made outside near the gate.
