Famous IAS Abhishek Singh disappeared without leave, responsibility of observer was taken away for making his own photo viral, now suspended

Renowned IAS officer Abhishek Singh is missing without taking leave. Abhishek was removed from the post of observer after his own picture with the car went viral during the Gujarat elections. Since then Abhishek has not come to UP to take charge. On Tuesday, on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the recruitment department issued an order suspending Abhishek on charges of absenting without leave. He will be associated with the Revenue Council during the suspension period. Prior to this, he was suspended in October 2014 as well.

Abhishek Singh is an IAS officer of the year 2011 batch and originally hails from Raipur Chhattisgarh. He went on deputation to Delhi in March 2015. After this, he returned to Uttar Pradesh on 30 June 2022. He was sent as an observer in the Gujarat elections. Here he was removed after being photographed standing in front of the car and putting it on social media. After this, he has not taken charge after coming to UP.

The appointment department also sent a notice to him, but did not respond. He has been suspended for missing without explanation and violating the conduct rules. Apart from being active on social media, Abhishek Singh also plays in films.

The Election Commission had appointed Abhishek Singh as an observer in the Gujarat elections. He was appointed as the general observer for Bapunagar and Asarwa assembly constituencies. After this, he took his photo standing in front of the vehicle written by the Observer and posted it on Instagram.

After this, the Election Commission took action against him. On behalf of the commission, it was said that Abhishek Singh has shared pictures of his posting on Instagram and has used his official position as a publicity stunt.

The commission had directed him to leave the constituency immediately and report to his nodal officer. All government facilities provided to him as an observer were withdrawn. In his place, IAS officer Krishna Bajpai was given the responsibility of Bapunagar and Asarwa.
