In 2007, a direct flight from Varanasi to the Kaaba for Haj was started. With the decision of the Central Government, pilgrims of many districts of Purvanchal including Banaras will get convenience. He will not have to go to Lucknow.
Online application for Haj will start this week

Earlier, he was not allowed to travel without a Mahram. Money will not be deposited for bags, suitcases, umbrellas, bed sheets. Haji will buy the same at his level. Preference will be given to the elderly, differently-abled and women. Out of 1.75 lakh, 80 per cent pilgrims will go through the Haj Committee while 20 per cent pilgrims will go with the help of private tour operators.
