The construction of 573 village secretariats in nine districts of Purvanchal is under threat. Somewhere land is not available and somewhere the problem of money is coming to the fore. During 2022-23, there was a proposal to set up a total of 1876 village secretariats in nine districts of Purvanchal. In this, maximum 752 were to be built in Ghazipur and minimum 16 in Bhadohi. These village secretariats were to be constructed by MNREGA with the help of gram panchayat.
The situation is that the financial session is about to end and the construction of more than 30 percent village secretariats has not started yet. The worst condition is of Sonbhadra district. The construction of only two of the proposed 50 village secretariats in Sonbhadra has started. The construction of 48 village secretariats has not started yet due to the problem of land and money. Same is the condition in Jaunpur also. The construction of 193 out of 393 in the district has not started yet. Officials have to say that most of the small and medium gram panchayats in the district have problems. The budget of small village panchayats is less. That’s why there is a problem in construction.
facility from village secretariat
In order to solve the problems of the villagers sitting under one roof in the villages, the outline of the village secretariat was made. According to the proposal, all the village level employees including Lekhpal, Beat Constable, Asha Karyakarti, ANM, Anganwadi Karyakarti will sit in the village secretariat every day to solve the problems of the people of the village.
