Veteran Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara completed 12,000 runs in first-class cricket in India during the Saurashtra vs Andhra Ranji Trophy match. He played an innings of 91 runs against Andhra.

Indian team’s star batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has performed brilliantly in the Ranji Trophy ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy starting next month. He missed out on a century by just nine runs against Andhra, but showed signs of being in form through this innings. Pujara’s Test career, who came out of the team last year and then in, is at its last stage. The 34-year-old Pujara has achieved a great achievement in the match played against Andhra in Ranji Trophy. Cheteshwar Pujara on Friday completed 12,000 runs in first-class cricket in India while playing for Saurashtra against Andhra in the Ranji Trophy.

Cheteshwar Pujara came close to a century in the second innings on the fourth day of the match against Andhra. But missed by nine runs. He played an inning of 91 runs facing 146 balls. Pujara hit 11 fours in his innings. His fighting innings of 91 went in vain as Saurashtra faced a 150-run defeat.

Pujara on Friday completed 12,000 runs in first-class cricket in India against Andhra in the Ranji Trophy. He achieved this feat in his 145th match and averages a little under 60 in the country. Pujara has played a total of 240 first-class matches, during which he has scored more than 18,400 runs. He has scored 56 centuries and 73 half-centuries in first class cricket. Pujara has played 98 Test matches for India, scoring 7014 runs at an average of 44.39. He has 19 centuries and 34 half-centuries to his name.

Four Tests will be played between Australia and India in Nagpur, Delhi, Dharamshala and Ahmedabad. After this, the three-match ODI series will run from 17 to 22 March.
