The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is organizing the Women’s Premier League (WPL) on the lines of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The first season of WPL will happen this year. Meanwhile, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal has announced that when and where the tournament will be played.

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal has told that the first match of the five-team Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) will be played on March 4, while the final match of this tournament will be played on March 26. He has also informed that all the matches of the tournament will be played in Mumbai only. There is also a team from Mumbai.

BCCI wants to end this tournament just before IPL. In such a situation, the 2023 season of IPL can start only from Sunday 26 March. However, there is yet to be a mega auction of WPL, whose date is yet to be fixed as BCCI is unable to get hotels due to weddings.

Let us tell you that through the auction for WPL, 5 teams have been bought by franchisees from different cities, in which Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Bangalore based teams are there. For the time being, the BCCI’s plan is to organize the tournament in a single city, but there is a possibility of home and away based matches in the future.
