BGT 2023 IND vs AUS: Rameez Raja warns Indian captain Rohit Sharma, this work will have to be done against Australia

Regarding the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, former Pakistan cricketer and former chief of Pakistan Cricket Board, Rameez Raja has kept his words. He warned India and Australia about this Test series.

Much clarity on which two teams will reach the finals of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle will be found in the four-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia starting on February 9. While Australia seems certain to reach the finals, the road to the finals for India is still full of difficulties. Apart from winning the Test series against Australia, India will have to see how South Africa and Sri Lanka fare. The craze for Border-Gavaskar Trophy is not only in India and Australia but all over the world. Former Pakistan cricketer and former chief of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Rameez Raja has also warned both the teams regarding this series. Rameez Raja believes that this Test series will be the biggest test of India captain Rohit Sharma’s Test captaincy.

Virat Kohli’s tweet went viral a day before the start of BGT

Rameez Raja said on his YouTube channel, ‘India should keep Suryakumar Yadav in the playing XI. He will bring pace with the bat. In the first two Test matches, many T20 players have found a place in the Indian squad. It’s a good thing because everyone wants to see action in Test cricket now. We saw how England scored 350-400 runs in one day in Pakistan. The faster you play, the more pressure you can put on the opposition. India will have a great chance to create pressure.

Rameez Raja further said, ‘Rohit Sharma’s captaincy will be a big test, there is no doubt about it. There would not be a single session of the first Test in which Australia would not put up a tough fight. There will not be any flat session in this test. Both India’s strategy and selection should be fool-proof. There should also be clarity on the conditions under which he wants to play Australia.

Australia has come to India for the first time since 2017 for the Test series. Then India had named the Test series 2-1. After this, India has captured the Border-Gavaskar Trophy twice in Australia. Australia has never won a Test series in India since 2004. Rameez Raja further said, ‘Australia recently had a strong performance in the Test series in Pakistan. It was a tough Test series, with matches stretching into the fifth day. He played better under pressure than Pakistan, Australia is good at creating pressure, he would like to do the same in this series. They know how important this series is because it is impossible to beat India in a home Test series.
