For WPL 2023, BCCI has released the list of players participating in the auction. The BCCI has finalized the names of a total of 409 players for the first season of the tournament.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a big announcement regarding the auction of the first season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). On the lines of IPL, WPL will be held in Mumbai from March 4 to March 26 this year. When and where will the auction be held for the first season of this tournament and how many players have been shortlisted for the auction. Its information has also come to the fore.

In the media release issued by IPL, it has been told that all the matches of WPL will be played at Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. At the same time, a total of 409 cricketers have got a place in the player auction list of the Women’s Premier League, which can go under the hammer. The Women’s Premier League auction will be held on February 13 at the Jio World Conventional Center in Mumbai.

A total of 1525 players had registered for the WPL 2023 auction, out of which 409 players have been shortlisted. Out of these 409 players, 246 are Indians and 163 are overseas players. Of these, 8 players have also come from Associate Nations. In addition there are 202 capped players and 199 uncapped players. 8 have come from Associate Nations.

The 5 teams have a total of 90 players to buy, with 30 slots for overseas players. There are a total of 24 players in the 50 lakh bracket who will be auctioned at a base price of 50 lakh. These include Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma and India’s Under-19 T20 World Cup winning captain Shefali Verma.

Thirteen overseas players have also chosen the base price bracket of 50 lakhs, including Ellyse Perry, Sophie Ecclestone, Sophie Devine and Deandra Dottin.
