Ahead of the first Test match to be held in Nagpur, the number of injured players in the Australian camp is increasing. Steve Smith has given a big update regarding Australia’s playing XI in the press conference. Smith has confirmed that Cameron Green is unlikely to feature in the opening match of the four-match Test series.
Australia’s star all-rounder Cameron Green is battling a finger injury. Because of which he was not going to bowl in the first test and Australia was going to give him a chance in the team as a batsman. Although Smith said in the pre-match press conference on Tuesday (February 7) that Green did not face a single ball from the fast bowler in the nets.
“He hasn’t faced fast bowlers either, so his chances of playing in the first Test are very slim,” Smith said at the press conference.

He further said, “Hazlewood’s injury is a big loss for us. But Lance is a good bowler. Boland is doing well too. His natural length will suit the pitches here. Whereas, Lens has a faster speed.
