Auraiya’s jawan has also been martyred in the accident in Leh. Along with five soldiers, Ramji Tiwari, a resident of Achalda in Auraiya, also lost his life. As soon as the information was received, there was uproar in the entire village including the family members. The relatives have left for Leh. According to relatives, an army officer called on Thursday and told that Ramji had died due to fire in the bunker.
Ramji Tiwari, resident of Ghasara village of Achhalda block of Bidhuna tehsil area, was posted as Subedar in Leh. The officer said that on Wednesday, a fire broke out in the bunker due to a sudden boiler explosion while on duty. Nine jawans came under its grip.
Five of them died on the spot, while four are undergoing treatment at the hospital. When the news of the death reached Ghasara on Thursday morning, a wave of mourning ran in the village. Wife Pooja and children Vaibhav and Anushka broke down crying on the news of his death.
The mortal remains of the soldier are likely to reach the village on Friday. The relatives told that a few days ago they had come home after taking leave and had gone back after getting a house built in Etawah. He was posted in Leh only 15 days back.
