Professor Pradeep Kumar Mishra, who was removed from the post of Vice-Chancellor of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) two days ago, resigned on Tuesday. Governor Anandiben Patel has accepted his resignation.
Professor Mishra was on Saturday removed from the post of Vice-Chancellor of AKTU and affiliated to Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, along with the additional charge of AKTU was handed over to Lucknow University Vice-Chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Rai. In a new development, Professor Mishra sent his resignation to the Governor on Tuesday, which was accepted late in the evening.
It is worth mentioning here that Professor Mishra, while holding the post of Vice-Chancellor of AKTU, had formed an inquiry committee on February 1 on the basis of a complaint from the UGC and the Prime Minister’s Office. This complaint by Prof. Vinay Pathak’s work was done during his stay as Vice-Chancellor. Since then, there was pressure on Professor Mishra to step down.
