Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav reached his private residence on Tuesday to meet his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav. Uncle-nephew is meeting for the first time after Shivpal Yadav was given the important responsibility of National General Secretary in Samajwadi Party. It is considered very important for Akhilesh Yadav to reach Shivpal’s house in this way.
These days both Shivpal and Akhilesh are on tours of different districts of UP. Akhilesh is going to announce the next election from Ghazipur in Purvanchal soon. It is believed that both of them have met only to chalk out a strategy regarding these tours and the upcoming civic and Lok Sabha elections.
The Samajwadi Party is continuously losing to the BJP in the elections. Even SP strongholds like Azamgarh and Rampur have gone out of hand. Meanwhile, the SP has won the Mainpuri by-election with a huge margin by coming together with uncle Shivpal Yadav. After this victory, the ice on the Shivpal-Akhilesh relationship has melted and its benefits are visible.
Continuous efforts are being made to remove the old complaints of Shivpal. His people are also being given responsibilities in SP. Ribu Srivastava, close to Shivpal, has been made the state president of the SP Mahila Sabha. Ghazipur leader Omprakash Singh was once sacked by Akhilesh from the post of minister. Now he has been entrusted with the responsibility of National Secretary in the revised list of National Executive of SP. Shivpal’s role is also believed to be behind this change.
The SP, which is a constant attacker on backward and Dalits, may not be speaking anything directly on Swami Prasad Maurya’s statement regarding Ramcharitmanas, but it is believed that he is liking this controversy. Shivpal has also made it clear in the meeting with the workers that his aim is to win the next election and defeat the BJP. Shivpal or Akhilesh may talk something but their direct focus is on the next elections only.
