Continuous defeat in the elections and now ready to look towards the youth, the efforts of the Bahujan Samaj Party can be dented. It is being said that before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Mayawati’s party is focusing on the youth. These activities of BSP are also happening at such a time when Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad is also becoming active in Uttar Pradesh. He is uniting the youth across the state and his focus is on Dalits and Muslims.
On January 12, 31-year-old Akash Anand, BSP’s national convenor and Mayawati’s nephew, had tweeted, “To build a strong country and end caste tyranny, youth have to come forward. Respected Mayawati ji has therefore called for 50% youth participation in BSP for the success of the mission. Youth is the future of BSP and the country. Speculations are rife that the BSP may give priority to the youth in giving tickets for the upcoming civic and Lok Sabha elections.
Azad also active
The special thing is that Azad is also seen to be very active politically. Recently he had met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in capital Lucknow. Along with this, he has also met Rashtriya Lok Dal President Jayant Chaudhary. Apart from this, he has also campaigned for SP and RLD candidates in Rampur and Khatauli assembly by-elections.
Though SP lost Rampur, RLD won Khatauli. It is being said that it could be a sign for BSP that Dalits supported RLD and went with SP in Mainpuri, keeping away from the by-election. In a conversation with The Indian Express, the RLD chief had claimed that the Azad Samaj Party would be a part of the SP-RLD alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha and 2027 UP elections.
The special thing is that before this BSP has also been in alliance with both the parties in 2019. Here, Anand is currently visiting states outside UP and the youth are focusing on politics. Along with this, he is also holding meetings with state and divisional units. BSP spokesperson Dharamveer Chowdhary says that the party will increase young and fighting leaders in the organization.
