4.15 crore scam in Hardoi, case filed against many officers including former GM

A case has been registered against several officers, including the former GM of Jal Nigam, in the scam of 4.15 crore in Construction and Design Services (C&DS) Jal Nigam in Hardoi. DM started the investigation of the work done in 2008-2009 six years ago, after the investigation report, a case was filed on Saturday.

On March 31, 2008, the Raja Todermal Survey and Bhulekh Training Institute named C&DS as the executive body and gave Rs 4 crore 15 lakh 58 thousand for 27 works. All the work was to be completed by August 2009. The organization started only three works till 2012, those too could not be completed.

On August 16, 2016, the then DM Vivek Varshney formed an inquiry committee and started the investigation on the scam caught in the audit. The committee submitted its report on September 30, 2016, in which the scam came to the fore. FIR was ordered on this report sent to the government, after which Ashish Singh, junior assistant of Raja Todarmal Survey and Bhulekh Training Institute, the then general manager of C&DS Jal Nigam RP Jatav, project manager Rajendra Prasad Pandey, local engineer, unit accountant and others. FIR has been lodged against.
